Ford Racing Oil Filter?

Frpp oil filter is total over-kill, the standard Motorcraft FL-820-S (which are made by Purolator btw) is/are plenty fine for performance appts. btw what what said about Fram filters is true, eversince they were bought-out @15 years ago, ther quality went downhill.

Don't use Fram stang2003gt, they're crappy.

if you use this frpp oil filter, can you use if for more than 1 oil change?

NEVER reuse a filter. even extended oil change companies such as amsoil recomend the filter be chnaged every 5k miles max. and thats when using very high qualiy synth.

your better off swaping the filter every 3k and just toping off the oil then you would be draining the oil and resuing the filter.

Some reading material on filters. And I quote,

"Fram Extra Guard PH8A

This filter cartridge has a small outside diameter with a rather low filter element surface area (193 sqin), and features cardboard end caps that are glued in place. The rubber anti-drainback valve seals the rough metal backplate to the cardboard end cap and easily leaks, causing dirty oil to drain back into the pan. If you have a noisy valve train at startup, this filter is likely the cause. The bypass valves are plastic and are sometimes not molded correctly, which allows them to leak. The backplate has smaller and fewer oil inlet holes, which may restrict flow." :nono:

I never do, always change both at 3-5k miles. I was just wondering what the additional benefits of using that filter would be besides better filtering which seems to be overkill for my car.

But it's all subjective I suppose. It's like me saying use Motorcraft instead of Fram because it filters better, but don't use FRPP even though it filters better than Motorcraft. :nice:

Spend a few extra dollars and pick up a Motorcraft filter from your local dealership. Your car will thank you.

God, I remember when they were $3 at WalMart. Now Im paying $7 a pop :(. That's 8 tacos I could buy from JITB! :bang:

BHAHAHA.....I got my Motorcraft filer from Walmart for like $2.50 :rlaugh:

That Ford Racing filter looks dead sexy. Might as well buy it if you have the extra cash.
