Awesome. Looking forward to seeing the pictures. I'm still waiting on Summit to receive my upper R Series Trick Flow intake. The lower and plenum spacer is in, but not the upper.

Only 10,450, if I knew that when I won the 4,000 from American Muscle ,oh no I still couldn't afford that sweet motor.
That's awsome you and your dad doing this, best of luck .

Very cool. I'm deploying in July and will be doing the swap when I return. In the meantime I'm buying all the odds and ends.

It will be very interesting to see our results with the somewhat different setups.

I appreciate any information you guys want to throw at me as it tends to generate discussion topics in areas I wouldn't have considered. The intake is an area I'm still trying to decide on. I realize I'll need 1 7/8" headers, although I'm still researching a good brand. I'll be able to swap most of my accessories over. Will go with an Anderson power pipe, but still researching what size (80, 85, or 90mm) throttle body.

Why will you need 1 7/8 lol?

I have custom 1-7:8” primary long tubes on the 351W in my T-Bird based on my combo. I think 1-3/4” would have worked but I will never know.

Yeah I'm going to do a little more research and I think depending on what you want to do with the car even one 1 5/8 may work

You're fine with 1 5/8 unequal shorties. You app is blown so, it is (not completely but) largely irrelevant.

Well I'm referring to the 363 though that's a future potential build.

IIRC, you're planning forced induction on that one too.

The Ford Performance Z2363 crate engine has a 205 head. All my research pointed to the larger long tunes. No regrets with that choice.

probably since I'll already have the blower lol. So 1 5/8's should suffice on a blown Z2363 vs a non blown Z2363 is that what you're saying?

oh gotcha. Yeah since I'll likely be blown if 1 5/8's will suffice then it'll be those since and especially since I'll have a set already..

You'll want the larger long tubes with either application.

It all depends on your end goal. My car currently spins the tires going into third. A supercharger would be too much in my opinion.

I included a build list in my posts. Reviewing that will give you a good idea of my setup, but as I mentioned I should have gone with the Box R from the start. With that addition, I estimate my car will make 415-420 at the rear tires which is plenty in a less than 3000 pound street car.

Well as for me my end goal is not to get the most out of the engine and it won't be a track car at all and mostly weekend car; I have 3 stangs now and want a few more lol. So yeah it won't be a high rpm revving to 7k or anything and won't try and squeeze every hp out of it. I also know now that the guy from RCI isn't around to make headers anymore and anything custom made is going to cost. I can really see being fine with any setup I do, it being 1 5/8 and that'll be enough for me. I should still be at around 400 even with those headers which is plenty for me. I'd likely use a systemax 2 on it. I haven't checked out your combo yet but I will . A little tied up right now working on a report due today so if you get time, copy and paste your combo because if you are getting 400 and spin the tire in 3rd, even if I use a systemax 2 with 1 5/8, and get around 380 NA ish I think that'll be enough for me . If I run the blower and it's too much for the car as in spinning too dang much all the time and just now what I'd want, I'd probably sell it or keep it for another build and one that I'd build it different so that it'll put the power to the ground a whole lot better.

I'd keep the 60 lb'ers and it would be tuned anyway rather it's NA or blown so all I'll need if I blow up the high mile 302 after the SC install is a crate lol....

What I'm saying is that LT vs. shorties on a blown app is nearly moot.

what's your opinion on 1 5/8 LT vs 1 3/4 LT on that z2363? I already have a set of 1 5/8 for each car so i'll run those vs buying shorties. From some of the things I've read, 1 5/8 vs 1 3/4 LT on that engine is not going to be much difference and probably more so in the sense of having to buy the other set. As for someone squeezing every ounce out they might want whatever extra it is lol......

LT vs. LT yeah, I would also go with the larger diameter.

The crux of what I'm getting at with blown combos is that the difference is so negligible that the simplicity of shorties make them the best option.

For an N/A car that benefits from good exhaust scavenging, LTs are the hot ticket.

If you already own the LTs then hell yeah! Use them!
