I was at the dealership that I purchased my 2006 Mustang GT and dropped by the service department to ask a few questions about Ford Racing aftermarket parts and installation. The service department informed me that they do not install any aftermarket parts even from Ford. Also they told me that any Ford Racing parts are for off-road use only and has no warranty. I love my Mustang but why in the heck don't Ford get with the program list the imports (Nissan, Toyota, etc.) they sell, install, and warranty their performance parts.

Says something when FOMOCO won't install and stand behind their own equipment. Wish I was surprised....

Maybe it is just your dealership?

From what I recall many, if not most, Ford Racing parts have a one year warranty. It sounds like your dealership simply does not want to honor the warranty (maybe they are not a true Ford Racing dealer or just don't care). Personally I'd suggest finding a different dealership as I'm betting this dealership may also extend this attitude to Fords warranty.

some dealerhships seem to be different about this kinda stuff.....

a friend I know bought the roush supercharging kit from a local ford and roush dealer and they said as long as they install it, it would be under warranty (providing the boost #'s weren't messed with)

Here's the warranty info (basically, none on parts) from FRPP itself:

http://www.fordracingparts.com/announcements/2006_Warranty_And_Use_Information.pdf

Some dealerships WILL install aftermarket parts from FRPP. I had my 2000 GT's gears and exhaust done at the dealership, because they had close to the same labor costs as the local performance shops.

I talked to a FRPP customer service rep when the new performance packs for the 2005+ Stangs came out. He confirmed that, as far as voiding your CAR's factory warranty, FRPP parts are looked on by Ford as any other aftermarket part. Meaning, if they think the parts caused damage that would have been covered under warranty, they can refuse to repair under warranty. If they want to be difficult, good luck arguing with them!

EPA has just reinforced laws for altering cars from the factory. In other words, technically, dealers are not suppose to do anything but replace stock parts. Some dealers I know stand behind their work-modification wise. Those are far and few between.
