That guy is a turd. Why doesn't he ask ford for a settlement instead of having them take off the option? He must be a chevy guy.
But hey My 05 stang has the mycolor guages. I bet the stangs with that option are gonna go for a lil more a few years from now because it will be a rare option.

Actually, it sounds like the guy offered Ford a few chances.

I wouldn't count your extra $ yet as one of the few that have the option. There are a lot of steps that have to happen yet before Ford has to cease putting MyColors out there. Besides, I think there will be settlement forthcoming.

That really sucks, I hope Ford doesn't stop making the MyColor gauges. I want one in my Mustang but can't buy one just yet.

The problem is that a patent should only cover the process, not the idea. If it covered the idea, then once a concept was patented then there would be no benefit in improving on a process with the same goal in mind and science and progress would be stifled.

If ford is using the same process, then he may have a case. However if they are using something different (and it doesn't even have to be terribly different if I recall, like 10-20%) then the patent isn't valid.

But i'm not a patent attorney, only going on what I've read over the years.

He's right. Just because you had the idea doesnt mean other people cant use it. I mean how many knock off products do you see on the market? As long as Ford isnt copying this guys exact method Ford is fine.

My GT with IUP was built Thanksgiving week, does this mean the MyColor will still be in it?

MyColor sucks anyway. That is the gehest option ever. Not trying to flame, but why do we need purple friggin' gauges anyway? I'm honestly surprised by the number of people who actually care that we may lose this.

I only care that my car ..that was built this week gets delivered..........

It is not a seperate option...it comes with the interior upgrade.....which includes leather seats aluminum and chrome dash....and is needed for the side bags...
I'm sure people care because..... it was sold to them and they want... what is theirs.
Not trying to flame...but my friggin gauges won't be purple....

I agree that the MyColor is a dumb idea. Although I like the car A LOT, there are some ricey things in it that I think Ford could have done a little better.

- Re-adjusting the seat EVERY time you put something in the back seat.
- MyColor
- Those damned windshield washer fluid dispensers on the hood - I am going to run right out to Napa and get some of those blue LED's for it. My ryde will be Phat Yo!

We need purple gauges because some of us really dislike the standard red and green ones that are always offered. If they're still installing MyColor when I get a mustang, my gauges will alternate between blue and purple.

The induction they seek, will stop Ford dead until the wheels of justice are done.

Even if the guy has a case, I can't see the judge stopping the entire line. The economic impact it would create over a relatively minor feature would be pretty big. Thousand of people would go without income because of a relatively minor patent infingement. If it was a safety issue I would undetstand. A judge in michigan that stops production of an auto factory and therefore cuts peope eaarnings during the holiday season would be career suicide. He's better off making ford pay harder fines if in fact they are found guilty.
