Just for a clarification to a wise guy's statement.......I bought the Ford and Chevrolet dealership buildings and all storage materials. My purpose of discussing the found 4 speed was to offer it if someone needed it......so I'll just scrap it and no-one will get it.......no problem for me

Ok, so i found the other thread with your origional post in it. Here is the reply that was made by the "wise guy"..

"D9BR-7006-AB is a casting number for the case. Doesn't really identify it, but I'm going to guess it's a 4-spd SROD given the 1979 engineering part number.

Also, you "found" it in a closed Ford dealership?"

I read the first post earlier and thought the same as 5L5. The way I took it was what do you mean "found" in an old closed down Ford dealership? Was it as you say, you bought the property and it's contents and are looking to off-load them? Were you scavenging an old closed down dealership there by trespassing and/or possibly stole it? You didn't give a lot of clarification with your original post and then get pissy when you mistook their question for being a smart-ass. Go back to bed and wake up on the right side of it. We don't need the drama.

Uh Ed, you need to take your meds fella. I see one response in your original post from MIke. Te ll us again where he suggested you stole it and called it theft. Seems to me he was asking how you found an old transmission in an abandoned Ford Dealership. Didn't see you mention anything about buying the building.

Ed, I find that you make a lot of assumptions as to what you think we already know:

We knew that you bought the building?
We knew that you used to be a police officer?
Therefor, we know that you're an upstanding honest citizen?
You know what they say about the word "assume?"

We don't know jack about you Ed, except you get offended easily. What we DO know is that you joined the boards to offer a transmission for sale that you know nothing about nor gave any information to us readily. Your original post could really be taken as quite shady. So, if you're honest and really want to offer the transmission to someone who could use it, post a little more information (or not as much information....) so people don't take it to be a shady post. The next step is to post it in the classified section of this forum. Pictures always help, so download and share them if at all possible and give at least a rough location so someone in California can have an idea if they would be interested in something from NY state. (I'm guessing you still reside in NY state since you were a police officer?) You want to make a little extra $ from your find and I'm sure someone somewhere wouldn't mind getting what could be a decent transmission.

So I was stripping an old Ford dealership of all it's copper when I came across ..........

BTW, using the "i used to be a cop" doesn't say much these days, the term Police/cop are not synonymous with good, trust worthy, nor honest IMO. Seriously, an ex-cop is trying to sell a used transmission "found at an abandoned Ford dealership", sounds like your trying to set somebody up to purchase stolen property to me.
