Hey everyone,

I have a '93 Mustang 5.0 302 engine that I've converted to carb for my '66 Mustang. I want to purchase the Ford Performance M-6049-X307 heads and run them with the reproduction COBRA CARB intake. Ford's website states "check your intake manifold for port match, not all intakes are compatible due to the tall high-flow ports."

Has anyone run a similar combo and can vouch that the COBRA carb intakes fit on this head?

Thanks!
Brent

The flag there would tell me that the heads you are contemplating buying have a taller roof on the intake port. Your stock port Cobra repro will be smaller than that, and a potential port mis match will occur. It's nothing unusual. It just means you'll have to spend some time w/ a die grinder matching them up. If anything, the Cobra port will be small enough that it'll be smaller to the point of "fitting inside" the heads intake port mating surface.
