I have been over 3 weeks without a lock for my lug nut. I cant find the original card with the code.

I went to Lincoln Mercury.. and the nice parts dude went to the back, got the master locks, and we tried to fit one but NO LUCK!!

I called TWO Ford Dealers and here is there reply:

"We need to do a SERVICE WRITE UP, bring the car in for service, fit the lock with a master key ""IF WE HAVE IT"" :rlaugh: , and then remove your lug locks, replace them with new ones, then return the car.."

Therefore, youre looking at

SERVICE write up
removal of the lugs
charge for new ones.
about 2 hours waiting..

I Cant believe FORD dealers are still in business with all their :bs:

best way to fix that is to beat a socket onto the lock loosen it up then replace them with different ones
I dont have one at home and I havent had a chance to get one.

My neighbor has his own "general" mechanic shop. Friday, he's gonna take it in and change my oil ( yep, he brings it in an brings it back for me after work :hail2: ) While there, hes gonna pop them off for me.

Rel..I called 2 places, and those, nor the others are really that close to me.

Sorry I havent been able to find the orginial one I have that I was going to let you have. I'll do some more digging around in the basement since I was off today and have tomorrow off as well. Thats to much :bs: to go through so I'll see if I can find mine.

You need to let me know by tomorrow if you have it, since Im sending the car in Friday for the "cut off"

BTW.. The shape of my lock is kinda like a triangle, but instead of 3 points, it has 3 double humps. , sort of like there is a small letter "m" at each corner. The center has a large hole so that it can slip over the stud.
Thanks

They all have the three double humps but they are not necessarily the same. Sometimes the humps are close to each other, somtimes not. They all look the same at a glance, but are not always the same. I found out the hard way. :nonono:

Anyway Joe, the mechanic is taking it in Friday to remove them..Unless I could get it today somehow (which I dont know how since I have to work till 7PM :bang: I wont be able to use it. If I KNEW FOR SURE it was the same, I would just wait on it.

When I lost mine I took the car to Discount tire & they had a reverse easy off lug nut remover. The center is open and has reverse spirals so when you put it on, it tighens up on the locking lug nuts & removes them. Took them less than 5 minutes and did not charge me.
Might help someone else later.
