Well while I was smoothing out my engine bay I found a bit of flakey rust on the drivers side strut tower where the frame rail is spotwelded to the tower, just below the brake proportioning valve. So i got the old da out and went to town, next thin I know I am seeing light through the other side. Turns out the frame channel was corroding from the inside out. SO I just got the rust as best I could and welded the frame back to the strut tower. But I am sure the is a buttload of rust that is still in there and I cant get to it. Any ideas on how to fix it?

I have a similar problem with my vert, but the rust is in the channel that the trunk supports are welded to. The convertible top bolts to the other side and is leaking somewhere. I am clueless as to how to fix it, so it's probably going to the stang shop here in Jacksonville soon! Hope you find a way to fix yours.

Well, can you get a sand blaster or something to remove the loose material in the rail? if you can, and can blow out this material, you can pour some Ospho (phosphoric acid rust converter) or simialr product through there, let it cure and then spray some rust encapsulator or similar product in there making sure to thoroughly coat the inside. If you think the damage is bad enough, then your only option is to section out the bad part and replace it with good metal.

Or you could listen to subcreep and get a new one....but where is the fun in that :D
