Found another cooling problem today on my way to school.

Got to a redlight and I noticed some steam coming up from under the hood.

All around the hood.

Temp was staying decently steady so I went on to school since I get graded for attendance in this class.

Got to school... by this time I had the fan switch on high.

Get into the parking lot... park... sit there for a minute watching the temp rise.... so I turned it off and popped the hood.... and there is a ton of coolant all over the water pump.

Crap... I didnt need this right now.

Go to class... get out of class... go outside and fill it up with coolant and run it to try and find where coolant is coming from since its all collecting on the top of the pump.

Thats when I notice a hose from the water pump up to the coolant pipe that the ECT sits in shooting a nice stream of water out against the water neck.

At least its easy.

What I.D. hose do I need to repair this????

I should be able to get home on it... just gonna waste a lot of water.

I guess your heater is not hooked up?

The hose from the water pump should go to the firewall, and another hose from the firewall to the ECT connector on the lower intake. Your setup sounds like you had the heater removed.

GET READY FOR MANY MORE COOLING ISSUE THREADS COMING UP IN THE NEXT COUPLE OF MONTHS!

Nope... wrong one... it appears to be the bypass hose.

Apparantly no one around actually carries it... i might just find some hose that is similar.

Oh..Ok..The bypass hose goes to on the left side of the water neck.

I got a replacement at Disc. Auto.
You CANT fab a hose for that...it is preshaped for that bend so it doesnt kink, kinda like the upper radiator hose.

$4.79 and I had to trim a bit on both sides.

It's all good now. Just more burping to do.

Yep. Mine blew too. After that, I replaced ALL of my hoses. I wasn't going to let some hoses ruin another night out EVER AGAIN!!!!

While you have the coolant drained, might I suggest you replace the heater core hoses. They are small, and easy to replace.
