Fox Body - 5 Lug - 17x9+ wheels

I'm looking to do a 5lug conversion and get 03 cobra wheels.
I just want to hear from people that have this setup with a 17x9 or bigger wheel. What size wheels do you have and what size tires are on them? Are there any rubbing issues?

with my 17x8 and 245/40/17 tires i rub VERY RARELY up front. 17x9 might cause rubbing issues up front. roll the fenders that will help. and it also depends on which way you are choosing to do your 5 lug conversion. good luck

I'm going to use the 94/95 setup including spindles. The problem is I only see the 03 cobra wheels in 17x9 and 17x10.5. I don't think I can get a 17x8 for the front. I may have to pick another wheel if that is the case.

with the 94/95 spindles they keep your stock track. you should be ok after you roll the fenders and cut some of the wheel well out. is your car lowered??

No, my car is not lowered. Still has stock springs. I didn't like the idea of rolling my fenders or cutting out the wheel well.. How much work does this entail? And what about the paint on the fenders?

i have 4-lug chrome 2003 cobra svt rims 17X9 all around. Only rubbing issues on the front sometimes, if im pulling into my driveway or trying to make a tight "Get-away" out of a small parking space, for normal driving and turning its fine. good luck

I had 17x9 Cobra R's on my 90 GT untill I recently got a set of Mach 1's for it. But with the 17x9's with 255 45 17 all the way around I had no rubbing issues. I also used the sn95 parts.

factory is 17x9 only on the 03 cobras.

You have to keep the stock track front and rear since those wheels only come in one offset.
