I just bought my 91 GT and there is no exhaust on the car! The car has stock manifolds and the 2 upper cats and was cut right before the rear cats so my car just has 2 pipes off the stock manifolds dumping basically right under the seats. I found a guy locally with bbk shorties & bbk o/r H-pipe & a magnaflow catback. I was wonering if there were any exhaust hangers/mounts on the body of the car and where are they so i can check to see if they are still there or if the dumbass previous owner chopped them off.

the h-pipe hanger is attached to the tranny

the muffler hangers are attached to the body after the h-pipe... you will understans when the h-pipe and flow tubes are installed.

Ok i rolled underneath the car and found 2 mounts right by the axle and another 2 by the bumper for tails. I couldnt see the h-pipe mount. Ive been searching around on the forum and if im understanding right , alot of people dont use H-pipe hangers and just use the rear mounts by the axle to support the h-pipe and mufflers??

the stock 4 cat h-pipe is very heavy if you are going to use that I would use the tranny h-pipe hanger. If you are going to use a O/R h-pipe then you can go either way..

Im getting used BBK shorties & BBK o/r h-pipe (no cats) from a local guy , & Magnaflow catback. So i should be fine using the mounts by the axle to support H-pipe and mufflers?? And yes the stock h-pipe with the 4 cats is a heavy *********ker.
