Frame Connectors Install

Hey

I am thinking of getting Sub frame connectors for my GT I want to get the
Weld in kind. I was talking to some guys and they sad to be careful on who
I get the install done by.. apparently the car has to be measured up etc then the
could be welded in and if this is not done the car wont be straight.

I thought the kit would be a straight forward install for any good Mechanic etc.

I guess what I am asking is what should I ask the Mechanic to do\ don't do when
I get them?

they arent that hard to install. and they cannot make your car not drive straight. anywelding shop should be able to handle it. i did mine in the driveway!

I had a buddy of mine do it for me on my old 5.0 in his garage. All he did was grind some undercoating off to expose baremetal, hold the connectors up and start welding.

As long as the car is sitting on all for tires, its not very hard to install them. I just had mine installed last tuesday & man what a difference. I went with the Maximum Motorsports full lengths. Great quality & very beefy....

Word. Make sure its being performed on a drive on lift or something similar. If not, I have heard horror stories where your doors wont close right because the chassis was skewed when they were welding in place.

I have not purchased them yet, was going to get them from American Muscle
the Steeda Full Length Subframe Connector.

Any feed back on them or other recomendations ?

Have your welder weld as many contact points as he can

Exactly -- the car needs to be lifted with the weight still on the tires. Also, there have been stories of the interior carpet burning due to much weld time done in a particular area (I had no problem with mine, though). So it is a good idea to alternate welding areas to prevent this. Other than that, SFC's are a slam dunk.
