Fried rice

Ricing has become a disease.

I can't even blame The Fast and the Furious.

I blame the idiot kids who watched it and decided that adding a fart can to their stock Honda Civic gives you a 10 sec car.

Kids these days do not think for themselves. They just follow the latest trends that they see whether it makes sense or not.

I have no faith in today's youth. :nonono:

I thought that was a good movie.

I've never understood the diagnal fart can phenomenon myself. Can someone explain the purpose of this for us that are "ricely challenged"?

It's because two of the fav ricer cars have angled factory exhausts.

The Toyota Supra

The WRX

So since these are popular cars..people want to imitate the look..so they angle their muffs.

Yeah he does, because for those 10 seconds or less he is free...:nonono:

Nah here is the thing just because the cars in the movie are imports/ japanese cars doesn't really matter to me. Even in real life I believe the same rule applies. Fast cars are fast cars to me. I am a car ENTHUSIAST first and I give credit where credit is due regardless if its American made, European, or Japanese. Doesn't really matter if its a Mustang, Camaro, STI, or even a Civic. If a person can put enough mods into a Civic to give it over 300hp then I respect that.

What I don't like are the idiots who put a loud exhaust and a couple after market filters on their cars and think they have a formula 1 orientated car that can take down any car in any class. I also don't think movies like the Fast and the Furious depict people like that. The people in the movie seem to be making legitimate power adding mods. Now Im not saying I wanna go out and street race now since thats what the movie glorifies but I think because it touches on something in society the is kind of frowned upon makes it a good movie. You can't all honestly say you wern't cheering for Tony Montana to kill all the bad guys at the end of Scarface because he was doing ungodly amounts of coke by the end of the movie.

But people need to know where to draw the line. The people who went out to autozone and bought a new exhaust and some spinners thinking they were legitimate to street race now are idiots and I think that is why most people who are into the car scene think the movie is bad. But I think as A MOVIE it had some solid action with some decent but not great actors with a pretty good storyline/ plot. If you still disagree with me after that then thats cool because if you don't like it then you don't like it. Everyone has their own opinion.:nice: Lol.

^ that U.M?
:rlaugh: Yeah that was UM :nice:

I agree, and I liked the first F&F. I had a 300Z at the time so I was into it :nice: And the cars in that movie are real bad asses. the RX-7 and that TT Supra are real peoples cars that were built to 700+ rwhp. The only one that was :bs: was the Eclipse. It was someones real car but it was a GS, not a Gs-T.
I just dont like the big body kits and the attitude alot of them have but some Mustang owners are the same way

I knew a guy that wanted to show me his new mod that really made alot of hp on his Accord. It was a resonater tip :nonono:

I think it's because they couldn't compete with this
VW_Rear_Dr_Open1_PScopy.webp

So they started doing something different...

Although it's not really different at all.

I remember a lot of the Sand Rails and VW Bugs and stuff in the desert where I grew up having angled exhaust or even angled and pointed up.

:rlaugh: Yeah that was UM :nice:

Yeah I feel the same way too man. Certain mods should only be done on CERTAIN cars. There are certain body bits that look good on cars like WRXs and stuff like that but it doesn't mean a huge body kit is gonna look good on a Mustang as well.

Thats why I think the movie got such a bad rep in the car community because idiots go out and do pointless "mods" such as resonator tips that don't add any hp and then use movies like the F&F as a reference for doing so.

I cant believe this but I had a customer yesterday telling me how much she likes my Cobra and that she has a cool little sports car too. So I walk her out and see its a 7 year old Hyudai Tiburon that is scratched to chit! (looks like dogs had been wakling on top of it for years :nonono:
She too tells me she has an exhaust so I go look and, aw man :nonono: I get down so I can be sure and, yep, a stock Hyundai muffler with a resonater tip welded to it.
That makes the third time I have heard that from someone that it added alot of hp
Must be true then

Lol at that point I woulda got up and been like "So what kind of exhaust is that?" Then when she replied be like "Oh looks like just a stock muffler with a chrome tip welded on there...". Haha. Most of the time I try to be polite but there are times where I just lose it. I mean I honestly don't like rippin' on people's cars no matter how bad but when they try to tell me it has this and that done to it and it turns out to be a bunch of :bs: I can't hold back sometimes.
