Friggen A! Electric fan will not clear my blower pulley!

i yanked my flex fan out of the car to put my new black magic fan in and the fan will NOT clear the radiator to the blower pulley.. it will hit the pulley. I never knew you cant run an electric fan with a blower?? wtf?? I have a ron davis aluminum radiator by the way. Any suggestions??

Can you mod the brackets (radiator) to move it forward a little?? Not sure how close you are. AS for the Radiator to blower pulley...I am lost. Do you mean that the space btwn the rad and the blower pulley is too narrow? (sorry NA guy here). Can you move the BM fan towards the over flow tank and get it to fit? Drill two new holes to move the expension tank a little more towards the battery area and move the fan that way too. Probably nothing you have not thought of by now.

I run the Ramchargers Dual Fan too, its also close. But I need to set my Griffin Radiator some more back. You are running the 6 rib pulley setup right? If so, you shouldnt be having a problem. A pic would help out a lot man.

well you can do one of two things. either gimme the fan...or the blower. ill leave it up to u. :nice:. Sorry im no help.

Ill go with plan B.. You can have my blower... Just gimme 200 shipped and we got a deal.. its a A trim polished blower with 2500 miles on it... im better off sellin it

Just kiddin!! HAHAHA

Anyways, i am running a 6 rib pilley and it looks like there is about 4 inches TOPS between the rad and the pulley.. The rad can not be pushed back because it is THICK!.. Downs ford is gonna exchange my fan for a permacool tomorrow soo its all good

nice work. for future reference, Mike is right - the slim profile of the dual Spals is nice for space contraints (blower).

is your new fan set up a dual fan?

I have the Mark VIII fan, i trimed the entire thing so the blade comes about 1/4" from the radiator. I took the rad brakects off, tried to angle the rad with the botom sitcking forward more...then put the brackets back on. I also had to rotate the fan from the way I had it before. The motor sits off to the upper drivers side of the water pump pulley, and just clears my stock Vortech crank pulley. i can't put a bigger crank pulley, or an 8-rib with the fan the way it is. i can do it if i wanted i think by fabbing custom rad brackets.
