Just recently I had my a set of front new hawk brake pads installed and my rotors cut and turned. Well my front wheels make a somewhat annoying metal to metal noise. It gets louder as I speed up but compleltley goes away as soon as I apply pressure to the brakes.

I took apart the brakes myself and applied material for sqeaky brakes to the pads, I applied some material to the rotors and i grease the calipers or the parts where metal touches minus getting it on the pads themselves or the rotors.

Well the noise went away compltley for 2 days then slowly came back and have been getting louder and louder the more I drive the car.

Agian the noises goes away as I apply pressure to the brakes and it sound as it's rotating metal going against each other.

I'm now lost as what to do except buy new pads. Any help is very appreciated???

Did you install the new pads? Or did you have some one do it for you? Either way, the anti rattle clips might not have been reinstalled on the new pads from the old ones...

I had someone install them initially as I had no time to do it myself. But after a few mishaps with that shop from other friends I decided not to go back.

So with a friends guidance we did it ourselves the second time around. The noise went away for 2 day them came back. You can really hear it echoing against other cars. When pressure is applied to the brakes it goes away alltogether.

Anti-rattle clips? please explain.

not sure if it the front or back, that come with springs that hold them in place, attached to the pads. I know the rear ones have a very tiny piece of metal, that is suppossed to stragically fit, mine were almost shot, but still worked. what do you mean by cut? slotted? mine don't make much noise at all, but I did new rotors at the same time.
