Front Brake Rattle on '92 5.0 LX

Anyone know how to stop the front calipers from rattling? They rattle when on rough roads, stops when brakes are applied. Removed the wheel and when capiler is hit the pad backing plate rattles in pins. I heard that there was ford kit to repair this but local dealer was no help. Its driving me crazy, sounds like a shock is falling off. thanks for the help.

did you remember to put the sleeves in the little rubber inserts in the caliper where the pin goes into. the kit i think your reffering to is the steel insert kit. where it uses a steel sleeve instead of a plastic one.

thanks for the info. i have not taken the brakes apart yet, but you should get a rattle when you bump the caliper with your hand. I will see what the ford dealer has to say on the steel inserts.
