Hey guys. Need your valuable input. Want to do front rotors and pads on my 87GT. She's still 4 lug, and yes, still running rear drums. Based on that, I want to put the best front rotors and pads I can. Any thoughts?

Street driving?

Oem brand rotors and pads, shoes and drums, SS braided brakes lines, fresh fluid. As good as you'll possibly get the stock system.

Do not get drilled rotors. The stock 10.9" rotors are too small to reduce rotor mass anymore than they currently have. Drilled rotors are more for pad offgassing and weight reduction of massive 13+" thick rotors that have mass to spare

go to the Max Motorsports website and buy their brake upgrade kit for $250 and then get a good set of blank discs and drums from Rock Auto.No need for drilled or slotted rotors as all they really do not add to performance.

For street use stock stuff just fine, I still run four lug stock stuff on mine. Only advantage to different pads is higher temperature operation for heavy use to prevent brake fade. I used Performance Friction Carbon Metallic on mine for road course track days but don't bite real good until heated up a bit. Usual auto parts rotors held up fine after several track days. The SS lines will help a bit, good idea to change them out if yours are old.

Thanks for the responses guys. Yes it is for 'spirited' street driving. I've already done the stainless steel lines, and the rear brakes have been replaced with all brand new components. I'm gonna check out max motor sports, thanks for the link. Have a great weekend guys.
