My project continues and I want to replace the front-end bushing on my 1990 GT. What bushings should I be looking to swap, how difficult is it to do and should any swaps be done in conjunction with any other work being done (ex. new suspension parts, etc.). Thanks.

I would replace the complete A arms on both sides.
BTW....by far the hardest job I've done on my stang.
Also replace the tie rod ends and end link bushings.

Which aspect, the A-arms or the whole front?

They have Fox body A-arms for 189.99. That's cheap. www.50resto.com has the same set for 299.99

My dumb a$$ spent 235.90 to have new MOOG ball joints and bushings pressed in my old rusty a arms. I spent wasy more money than I had to.

Bushings must be pressed in. MY shop did it for 10 dollars a bushing/balljoint.

I agree with the FLCA's. I went with poly LCA bushings - I should have either done Delrin/Del-alum or a rubber bushing with a greater durometer rating than stock.

You can really go nuts in the front suspension. Top strut mounts or CC plates can go in, struts, end links and sway bar bushings, steering components as mentioned, rack bushings, and so on.

I'd give all that stuff a looksie to see what you need. I'd do end links and sway bushings (cheap - I do use poly and like it for those) while doing the LCA bushings.

Good luck.

I did the ford racing lower control arms , worth doing, you get the updated better lower balljoints. stab links are easy and cheap. strut mounts you can inspect when you do the lower arms. outer ties easy, inspect the inners(more of pain)but more than likley okay, they usually go if the outers are left worn for to long or the front end has been junk for long also. just inspect don't replace just to replace. grease what can be greased, like the wheel bearings etc. get a good alignement.

best of luck.

Maybe for the SN 95 but not for the Fox.

I ordered a "polygraphite" polyurethane frond end kit from www.p-s-t.com for about 189.00 and it came with all the bushings for the front as well as ball joints, tie rod ends and the end links. The price is 259.00 now, but it is a great kit. I spent another 80 dollars having the ball joints and bushings pressed into my original control arms. It worked out great, the only problem is I live in CA and the roads are the worst in the nation here. If the roads are bad in your area, I suggest just getting new rubber bushings or else you will need to get anger management from getting pissed off about your car bouncing around and vibrating
