H&R Super Sports not even after drop?

Hi all...

I recently installed H&R Super Sports up front with new MM caster/camber plates and urethane spring isolators. For whatever reason, the front passenger-side fender is a half-inch higher than the driver-side fender.

What could be the problem? Any suggestions? This is driving me nuts.

I did the install myself and tried like heck to get the tip of the spring in the A-arm notch. Maybe it isn't in there all the way...but a half inch difference?

Does anybody else out there have this issue? Is it a Ford tollerance thing?

I wanted to have some sub-frame connectors welded in but I don't want to do that until the car is level.

Your thoughts are appreciated!
 
It could also possibly be one of your struts up front if it is worn out. One side of my truck is sitting slightly lower in the front right now and i think i need to replace the struts. Just a thought...
 
I got an alignment done and I installed new urethane isolators on both sides.

Unless I don't have the spring in there "just right," then one possibility is that the spring on the front right doesn't have as much weight on it as the front left and therefore not settling as fast. I rarely have passengers and the battery is in the front left. I didn't think that this weight difference would be enough to cause a half-inch difference.

I also thought I may have a bad strut, but I was told that struts don't affect ride height. That makes sense to me since the spring is the load bearing item, but a bad strut started to make sense to me when I t hought through the install process. When I did the install, I had the front end on jack stands, placed under the frame. I then loaded the suspension by the A-arm with a jack. Then, I undid the strut nut and the damn car jumped off the jack stand and was supported by the jack. Common sense tells you that the strut was holding the spring in a compressed state. We had to lower the jack to get the car back on the stand.

I'd like to know if anyone else has this problem and what they did to fix it...if anything.
 
My car sat a little uneven after my spring install. Give it a week or so.. that's how long it took for my car to level. While my ride height is not perfect now (good luck with that!), it's very close and only noticeable with a tapemeasure. If your car still isn't close to level after a week or so, then I would yank the springs and make sure they sit in the arms correctly - a spring not sitting in the a-arm groove correctly will definitely cause the problem you've described.

yeah, it's been a couple of weeks. I'm probably going to have to take apart the front right again. It also sounds like a good time to buy some new struts and bushings.
OT, so you think it could be my bushings or struts making my stock suspension sit uneven?
 
I also have a performance red '00 GT. The problem of the passenger side being higher was apparent even before I dropped my car and its still there after. Maybe it's just a performance red problem..LOL. Nah, I just think the majority of Mustangs are actually like this.. freakin Ford.
