I just relized today that the windsheild doesnt have the tinted glass in the upper windshield area, instead it has those dam dots across there then right behind the mirror the dots go into a running horse design. My GT had the tinted glass across the top, anyone have any suggestions on how to tint that area...I dont wanna do vinyl like you would do for the rear.I just want it darkened a bit.

Yeah our cars dont come with any kind of tinting in that area. You can go to any tint shop and have them put a strip of tint there. It may not stick perfectly over the little pony and dots in the center but its not really noticible (at least not on my car).

If you want to put a brow on the car you can scrape the dots off with a raxor if you want to. That way you don't have to worry about the tint coming up.

Didnt think of that,The horse thing looks cool but I prefer to keep the sun outta my face.In my GT the glass itself was tinted there...is that not how they come?I bought it used in 03 with just under 30k on it...figured it was the original glass.

my 02 gt has that damn thing there. I've just been a cheap ass and since i'm short i can get away with just flipping down the sun visors and driving like that. I bought my car with the windows tinted. It's about time to replace it though and i'll probably scrape the dots off.

I kinda think a "brow" looks silly. I've seen cars with the windshield tinted at the top and bottom and think it doesn't look right at all.

Then again i've even seen some guys tint the ENTIRE windshield.

I'm all for dark tint on any of the other windows..but i think the windshield looks better left alone

tint will not stick...it will have ghost dots. black vinly, or you can spray paint it (but I wouldn't recommend that).

I haven't been able to scrape them off when I've tried. i have one of those scrapers with the handle kinda like you use to remove inspection stickers off the inside glass of the windshield. the dots are made of a hard acrylic. I've heard some people say you can sand them off, but I have no idea what that would do to the glass.

Well my gt didnt have those damn things, the glass itself was tinted of which doesnt look bad,but I dunno about actuall tint...:(

This is what it looked like after the repairs.....Nevermind the handicapped thing...thats from somethin alse..not the drunk.

For the windshield i just put the tint strip over the dots/pony.
For the back window, i painted the dots and tinted up to it. Looks perfect.

On the windshield, I will admit it looks tacky if you dont press on it firmly while its taking hold to the window. AND it looks tacky if you dont have it tinted the same as the side windows. That solid black cut off line does look a lot worse than the faded blue stock sun strip that comes on most windshields stock...

I pushed on the windshield dots for 2 or 3 days days to try to get it all stuck properly without those little white-ish bubble outlines around each dot. You really have to work at it to make sure the tint sticks to those dots. My tint strip didn't have any peeling for 1.5 years...then my windshield was smashed... then i put a new tint strip on it and that has lasted 1.5 years so far, as well....no peeling problems at all either time!

i'll check if i have any pics if anyone wants to see it.

That's odd. I helped a friends a few years ago and they come off pretty easy. I guess I got lucky on that one.
