Front Tire Width

I swear I saw a thread about this, but can not find it.

I'd like to know if anyone is or has run 275/40R17's on the front of a '96-'98 Mustang.

Yes, I do. I have Fuzion ZRI 275/40/17 on 17 X 9 wheels all the way around. It only rubs a tiny bit at full turn, like in parking lots and stuff. If you don't listen for it I can barely hear it. BTW, I'm lowered 1.5 inches too, so if you have stock ride height you may not even rub at all. Turn in is so much better, its worth it IMO.

I'm at stock height, but I want to lower 1". I'm looking into 17x9/18x9 chrome Saleen style wheels with 275/40's as a possible tire for the wheels.

Are your tires completely under the front fenders? Do you happen to have any pics?

i had them on 2 different 98 gt's, one was lowered 1 1/2". they worked perfect no pics though, & i don't have the car anymore

I have a 97 GT vert with 2003 Cobra's on 17x9 and 275/40/17 on all four corners. Not even close to rubbing even at full turn. I will be lowering mine wit the 1.5" pro kit, but still should be just fine from what I have heard.
