I'm trying to replace my front wheel bearings, however I notice that the wheel bearings the dealership gave me (basically the entire hub assembly) does not come with the black plastic center grease caps that cover up the actual ball bearings. I guess I can get them from the dealership but do I have to pack grease inside the center area before I seal it?

Also, when I remove the calipers + rotors and I disconnect the shocks, how do I pull the assembly off the shaft? Pry bar? Is there some type of internal c-clip holding it on? Any suggestions on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I had to do this to my 99 cobra, and its a royal pain... Just remove the calipers, and pop off the grease cap- there should be a large nut that will need to be removed (its on there at around 230-250ft/lbs of torque, so its TIGHT). I had to use a rubber mallet to remove the rotor, and then remove the bearing unit.

The bearing unit is an all-in-one unit that does not need to be greased, and is non serviceable. You'll probably have to buy the socket to remove the bearing nut (I think its a 3/4 inch drive)
