I am new to this forum so I apologize if this subject has been gone over before. Can anyone explain the differances between these two spring sets? My assumption is that based on rates, the "B" spring rides a little softer, but may allow a little more sway than the "C" spring. Is this fairly accurate, and are there other differances? It looks like they deliver identicle amounts of drop. Thanks.

you got it. B is progressive where as the C isn't......i think. Anyways B = softer ride less traction C = Firmer ride better traction

you've pretty much got the idea...but in all honesty the c springs don't ride very harsh at all. You will notice a difference over stock but you will see that with all lowering springs. You can take care of that with a new set of shocks/struts. By the way, the improvement on cornering is amazing over stock.

i have the c springs waiting to be installed....wondering if i am goin to need caster/camber plates right away? and where can i get a set of mach 1 shock/struts?

I don't have the caster/camber plates-from what I hear you only need em if you go more than and inch and a half. I am going for an alignment this weekend so I will know if I need new plates with my c springs. The mach 1 shocks and struts can be had at www.fordpartsnetwork.com

how about shocks/struts out of a 99 cobra? would those work the same as the mach 1 shocks/struts would with the c springs?

I'm not sure who makes the ones out of the 99 cobra but the mach 1s are made by tokico...so theyre pretty good

ok well i jsut ordered them from the fordpartsnetwork! one other thing is i see things about rear quad shocks every now and then, i would imagine this would mean 4 shocks in the rear right? jsut to make sure i dont have this, i dont hink i do but i havent really looked yet

Thanks for the help. I too am trying to avoid the C/C plate switch. I can't see spending the money or the hassle over 3/8ths of an inch of drop, but that is just my tight but talkin. I am sure that even the "B" springs provide some advantage over the stock springs, and since my philosophy is go straight until I have to turn, I don't care about cornering. Thanks for the input from all.

i know the v6s don't have the quad shock, I'm not sure about the pre 99s, but I know the 99+ GTs have quad shocks...theyre directly behind the tire in the wheel well..theyre alot smaller than the shock and I think they sell for under 40 bucks each-but as far as I know theres no need to replace them unless the go bad

so i jsut need to get the two rear mach 1 shocks i dont have to worry about getting the two smaller quad shocks?

Will the C springs installed on a near stock Mustang help straightline/quartermile performance at all? or just ride height?
Increasing the spring rate will hurt your quartermile times. At least the C's will, the B's are close enough to stock to not make much of a difference.
