frpp C springs vs. steeda springs

I've done my research and have narrowed my selection of springs down to FRPP and steeda. I'm going to go with the mach 1 shocks/struts. The thing is that I'm not sure how much the C springs are going to drop the car. I know what the advertised drop is but they seem to be inconsistent according to what everybody says. Some say they get more than the advertised drop, some say less. Are the steeda springs more consistent? I'm looking for a drop less than 1.5" so I won't need cc plates. I believe steeda advertises a little over an inch which is what I'm looking for. Which should I get? I'm leaning towards steeda right now.

If you dont cut a coil on the C springs you will drop appx an inch. I have them on my car, check out my cardomain page and the first page that pic is with the springs.

Yes the FRPP "C" springs are really nice but,I would choice
the Eibach Sportline kit!

FRPP C-Springs our versatile due to the dead coil that can be cut. Uncut you will only get a 1" to 1 1/4 " Drop

Honestly I am 100% happy with my C springs and wouldnt spend nearly twice as much for any other spring.

Great bargain and makes the car handle better. Combined with your mach shocks/struts youll have a winner.

I have Steeda springs on my Cobra and its pretty low.

are the c springs the same ones that are in with the bullitt and mach kits?

I think the C springs are stiffer than the ones on the Bullit and Mach 1.

They have a pretty stiff spring rate, 650 fr and 350 rr if I remember right. They are also a linear spring, they are the same spring rate the whole spring.

It does ride a bit more rough than a progressive spring but a linear spring tends to be a bit better for handling as they are more predictble.

Correct me if I am wrong.

I have c springs and they are good. They are uncut. If you cut them you are going to run into trouble in my opinion. I already bottom out on every speed bump and the ride is harsh. I just got a new k member and am going with coil overs. Looking for weight loss rather than handling though. You wont be dissapointed in the C's. Just get ready for a pretty rough ride. I dont mind but passenger compliants are endless.

FRPP C SPRINGS

Hello,
You guys that have the FRPP C springs installed, did you have to replace the shocks/struts? Would it be safe to install the FRPP C springs with the stock suspension in place?

I put c springs in my car at 50k miles and now have 93k on the car with the original shocks and struts. I had to replace the ball joints with steeda x2's after about 30k miles and put in offset rack bushings cause it helps and they are cheap.

FRPP C SPRINGS

Thanks for the feedback. Did you have to get an alignment when you installed the springs? Were they able to set the alignment to specs without CC plates?
How much overall did it lower your car all around?

The ride is definatly more harsh. I dont scrape on anything though in my car. Mine dropped right at an inch all around. The rear is a touch higher than the front but I like it because of the slight muscle car rake look.

I do not have aftermarket shocks but would recommend them because the ride will be less bouncy imo. I wish I would have put in the shocks/struts when I installed my springs but I will do that next summer.

Yes, you will need an adjustment. I didnt need new cc plates though. I still have the old ones on there. As for the drop it was over an inch all the way around. prob closer to an 1 1/2 after settling. Wait at least a week before getting the alignment done. Try and wait 2 if possible. The settling of the springs is noticible. I am glad I didnt cut any coils. It would look nicer a tad lower but it would be impractical. Even the smallest speed bumps are a pain.

I'm planning on B springs, since they are progressive (better ride), and provide the same drop. Too many stories of people saying the C's rattling their fillings.
