I decided to do the whole clutch linkage upgrade this weekend. Per research on this thread, I purchased the following:

FRPP Double Hook Quadrant
BBK FWA
Ford Racing Non-adjustable clutch cable

With my FWA all the way in, and using the closer hook on the quadrant, I still couldn't use the new cable. I was out of adjustment and the car wouldn't fully engage. Luckily, the original cable (fraying with 130k on it) was stretched enough to work.

What clutch cable do I need to make this work? The old cable has 1/4" more wire in it than the one I bought. That gave me enough.

Thanks,
Rich

Rich, I have no experience with that quadrant (I had a single hook SVO quadrant which wouldnt accept a stock cable either), but I bet the FRPP adjustable cable would work well.

I ran that adjustable cable on mine before I got the new stuff and it was a robust cable - not quite as beefy as the OEM style (non-adjustable) but also nothing to sneeze at (and better lookin than many parts store and aftermarket cables I've seen).

My two cents. Good luck.

Looking at your quadrant, was the closer hook about 90 degrees to the two mounting holes? This is made for a stock cable and FWA setup. If the angle I just told you is true, send yours back and get a UPR quadrant as their triple hook setup has a hook even closer to the firewall solving your problem.

Does your quadrant resemble this setup as far as 90 degrees relative to the mounting holes?

If so, look at this one and notice how there is a 3rd catch which will give you some more cable slack at the clutch fork which is more like 70 degrees relative to the mounting holes

If more slack is what you desire, send back the FRPP and get the UPR one!!!

Here is a pic of the quadrant:

I went with this one since Summit carried it and I live ten minutes away. Unfortunately, I left it in the car with the old cable and I'm using it right now. Probably won't be able to get my money back for it. And I'd rather not use an adjsustable cable.

Are there any other cable options? Does MM make their own cables? Any good?

That's identical to the Steeda. If you want to keep the cable you got, go with the UPR that I mentioned. This WILL give you more cable slack and fix your problem.
