Looking to get one of the two FRPP axle-backs on my 2007 GT. But I cannot make my mind up. The mustang is my daily driver and I don't want somethine too loud, but at the same time I don't want to be dissappointed with something too quite. I've heard a couple exhaust clips on youtube and I searched a couple old threads but I thought I could get a more up to date opinion from you guys. Also if you have any of your own clips please share

thanks guys.

If you do a search there's a really long thread already on here about this.

Have you considered swapping for an O/R mid pipe? The Pypes O/R H woke up my factory mufflers quite a bit for $180.

Liked GTA's

I just recently put on the FRPP GTA's for the following reasons -
1) I wanted something not too loud either, mine is a daily driver as well, and a convertible
2) About half the cost.

They were easy to swap out with the stock mufflers - did it in about 45 minutes. I am very pleased with the sound. Love the 4" tips.

I took my daughter to her first day of school on Monday and of course the police were out directing traffic in front of the school. I idled up and when I pulled away from the cop he was looking the other way and he jerked his head around - I just looked at him in the rear view mirror and laughed.....that's satisfaction!

have GTAs. Sound awesome. They dont sound SUPER loud but they are perfect. No in cabin noise or drone.

I chose the GTAs cuz i wanna go o/r H pipe but if i had like SLP loudmouths or something like stingers, it would be WAY too loud.

Plus double walled 4 inche tips look nicceeeee

I had the GTAs since a few months and to me they are just a bit too quiet. I just ordered a set of Stingers (Borla brand) to solve that problem I'll let you know how they compare.

I just put my GTAs on monday night. I've driven the car 3 or 4 times so far. They are certainly quieter than I expected.

Somebody mentioned that they "age" a bit and the tone changes. Is this true? I'm satisfied (certainly for $265), but wondering if I'll get a bit more deep tone to them later.

They do seem to "age" a bit seal614. Mine got a little throatier and deeper after I had them for a while. I love the way they look and sound (although I'd prefer a little louder).

The other day my GTAs fell apart though. Well the hangar on one of them broke off so now I have to get some new ones or different axle-backs.

Cool good to know. I'm sure they grow on you a bit with or without a change in sound.

That sucks bout the break, hopefully it's an isolated incident although the low price might be a clue to their longevity - we'll see.

take the broken hanger, and muffler down to a shop and have them weld it back together???

Or are you looking for an excuse to buy a new system

Kinda looking for an excuse However it looks as if the same hangar on the other muffler is about to do the same thing.

Stingers all the way. They arn't nearly as loud as everyone says. They are perfect if you want your car to be heard.

OK folks, I just replaced the GTAs by Stingers (Borla brand). WOW OMFG! I went from SLP loudmouths (too loud) to GTAs (too quiet) to Stingers, and I think I found what I was looking for. The volume of the Stingers is between the GTA and SLP LM, you will be noticed, but not obnoxious.

There is some drone around 1800-2000 RPM, but nothing head splitting, and it's easy to drive around it in a manual. Plus driving with the window down helps a lot too, and that's how I drive most of the time.
