I talked with Ed Curtis this weekend at the NMRA race in Ohio. He's a great guy, gave me and all my brothers free T-shirts. Anyways I told him this story and I forgot that I hadn't mentioned it on this forum. Since there are alot of people asking about cams I thought I would post this.
The local speed shop in town was helping a guy install his new H/C/I on a 92 Mustang. He had Edelbrock RPM heads, RPM intake and a B-303 camshaft. On top of that he had almsot identical bolt-ons as me, except he had a MSD 6AL ignition system (my mods are in sig). The shop also charged him $300 for a professional dyno tune, he made 312rwhp and 327rwtq.
Both of us had our first time at the dragstrip a few weekends ago. The conditions were horrible, humid and 20-30mph head winds. We both weighed our cars at the strip, he was 71 pounds lighter then me. And even though he was running slicks I still beat him 13.24 vs. 13.42 (1.94 vs 1.84 60 foots) and I was trapping 1-2mph faster then him.
I'm not sure what the flow differences are between TW heads and RPM heads, but other then the intake and cam, there wasn't too much different between our cars.
