in order to add a procharger to my 65 i need to install a return line to the gas tank and increase the line size to 1/2". i was thinking about modifying the spare sending unit that i have like some people have mentioned however i have been to four auto parts stores and none have 1/2" steel tubing any suggestions? or do i bite the bullet and fabricate a fuel cell which would be safer anyway. no way am i shelling out 1g for one of those fuel safe ones though, i'll use a RCI or jegs and unfortunately pop the trunk to fill it.

any suggestions

Call around to different welders, radiator or machine shops & see who will weld on the necessary line you need. Should be easy & cheap. I had a Fuel Safe on my road racer & it was sweet.

When running 1/2" fuel line you usually either run braided stainless hose or solid aluminum tubing which can be forund here:

http://store.summitracing.com/defau...=110&Ntk=KeywordSearch&Ntt=aluminum+fuel+line on page 4 and page 5, and the least expensive Summit brand on page 6

I have used this stuff and it is easy to flare and install because it bends so easily to fit any contour. It is also safe so there are no worries.

i can weld pretty good.
-8an or 1/2" is required
1/2" is only req. for the sending unit
i know where to buy -8an and fittings that is not the problem.
problem is need steel line for the sending unit because aluminum cannot be welded to steel.

thanks brianj5600 thats what i'm trying to do, now i just need to locate the steel lines

DO YOU HAVE A FUEL DRIAN ON YOUR TANK, MY 66 HAS A DRIAN AND I HAVE SEEN SOME PEOPLE RUN THE RETURN LINE TO THE DRAIN. IT IS ON THE PASS SIDE FORWARD CORNER. IF NOT UPGRADING TO A AFTERMARKET TANK WITH A DRAIN MIGHT BE 100 TO 150 BUCKS. MIGHT BE THE WAY TO GO.. NOT TO MENTION MESSING UP A SENDER...
