Fuel Cell or Stock Tank

I have a 67 Coupe. The stock tank is full of God only knows. I was debating going with a fuel cell, a new tank or cell should be in the same ball park for price. Thing is, do fuel cells come with a float so I can hook up to my fuel guage?
Is a fuel cell worth it? the car will be a daily summer driver 347 stroker.
I know it sounds cheap, but if the fuel cell is the way to go, would it be all that wrong to cut the top off the fuel tank and use it as a base to mount the fuel cell? Im not going for a 100 point show car.

Personally, I'd just use a stock tank unless you have a specific reason to use a fuel cell (track rules, etc).

Fuel cells are very expensive. That made the decision for me.

since you are replacing the tank anyway, i say pop for a 70 mustang tank. it will give you 5 extra gallons, and only requires minor mods to install.

I used one of the aluninum Jegs cells with sender and I did just that and cut the top off the stock tank and used it for the "floor". From the rear the car looks stock.
