Fuel cut off!!! Need help AsAP!

Ok I searched here and corral and came up with nothing and I know there is posts out there.Im trying to wire up a switch to turn my fuel pump off so if somene tries to steal my car they wont start it without switchint this on. Well I wired it to a pinkish/with a black stripe wire. Thought this was the right one. Flipped the switch and the car started. SO I turned the swticjh the other way, fuel pump didnt turn on, car tried to start then smoke started rolling out of the engine bay. Quickl flipped the switch and couldnt find what was smoking. I need to know WHAT wire am I to tap into under the drivers side seat? Thanx

The Pink/White Stripe wire is the power wire for the fuel pump. As far as what was smoking under your hood?????
You car will still run for a few seconds even if you shut off your fuel pump because it still has fuel in the line, but it will die out.

Use the LT Blue/Orange wire on the fuel pump relay to insert the switch. This is a low current part of the circuit and can use 18 gauge wiring and a light duty switch. The other part of the circuit is high current and would require 14 gauge wire and a switch rated at 20 amps. Avoid using this part of the circuit if at all possible.
