Guy just wanted to let you know that the filler neck gromet can be replaced without removing the fuel tank. I was very happy that I did not have to drop the fuel tank for a second time after I replaced my fuel pump. Here are the steps needed to take.

1. Remove 1 bolt on tank that holds filler neck support.

2. Remove 4 bolts under car for fuel compartment seal.

3. Remove three bolts around filler neck in fuel compartment, first remove fuel cap to access.

4. Remove 4 bolts around outer diameter of fuel compartment. 2 bolts for fuel door, and 2 on apposing side.

5. Push down on filler neck in compartment to break seal free.

6. Wiggle filler neck and twist and pull. With little effort you will be able to completely remove filler neck from fuel tank.

7. Replace grommet. Use Vassoline to lube up new grommet for easy installation.

8. Reassembled in reverse order

I missed that one man. But you do not even have to lower the tank at all to sneak it out.

I had to, but it might be a little different on my 95. I tell ya what, doing it with a tank that's about 3/4 full is a messy, smelly job. I hadn't killed that many brain cells since I was a teenager.

this is the most common thing for leaking gas tanks right? I am pretty sure mine has a slow leak from somewhere on top of the tank on the filler side

damn man 3/4 tank that sucks. Yeh i beat the crap out of mine tring to burn off as much fuel as possible. I also did so nice turns figured Id make the fuel spill out of the tank haha. I went through over a quarter of a tank of gas in like 6 miles.
