fuel pressure

what should set my fuel pressure at? here are my mods...right now with vaccum on it sits a 30 psi idle and 35 WOT, smells like my car is running pig rich....

1990 25th anniversary LX red with black interior(original interior...not swapped!!)
306 sportsman block, stock intake manifold,1inch trick flow spacer..lightly ported gt-40 iron heads,
f303 cam, comp billett 1.7 rollers rockers
all forged scat crank, eagle rods and trw pistons
mac cai, mac 74mm mafs, 24# injectors, 65mm TB
walboro 255 gph fuel pump, underdrive pulleys
mac shorty headers, mac off road h-pipe , 40 series flowmasters.
rebuilt AOD with 2800 stall, 3:73 gears

Set it at about 35-40 with the vacuum line off.

"right now with vaccum on it sits a 30 psi idle and 35 WOT, smells like my car is running pig rich...." i got my pressure around 35 idle and 40 WOT .. i got a S-Trim and 42# but from what poeople told me i get a puff of smoke when i get on it or shift... i guess too rich... one could be stock computer or i got C&L mass air which it's junk(should of went with Pro M)... what kind of mass air do you have? but yeah fuel pressure 35-40 .. do it while the car is idling and disconnect the vacume hose while you do it....

my fuel pressure WAS set a 40 with vac off....i kicked it down to 35 with vac off...cleared the computer disconnected the iac and reset the idle to 900 rpm (F-303 cam).....thinking my richness issues are 0-2 sensors and the coolant sensors....

Set your FP at 39-42psi...it should run better...no matter what it smells like...
