fuel pump won't come on.

I just finished converting my 4 cylinder coupe to a v-8 from my 91 lx. The coupe I bought is a 93 and I used a wiring harness from a 1992 gt. The only problem is the fuel pump won't come on and there is no power to the pump but the relay has power.I ran power directly to the pump and the car fired up right away. Does anyone know how I can fix this problem? I don't want to wire it directly.

theres a black box in the trunk of the car with a gray botton it shuts the fuel pump off incase of an colishin it some times gets tripped

I had a similar problem a while back. i couldnt hear the fuel pump prime itself. i replaced the pump and it worked fine, temporarily. they thought it was a bad new pump, so we replaced it again, yet it failed again. they then found a wire was shorting against the frame of the car. If the fuel cut off isnt tripped, try this.

the fuel pump is good cuz its the same one I've used, its a 190lph. The fuel pump cut off switch is ok.Theres just no power to the pump.

well grab a test light start were you get power till the fuel pump youll find it like he said also make sure no wires are grounding out
