I'm trying to put my 91 back together (installing a 255lph pump) and I don't know what to do about hooking up the new wiring. I have heat shrink, but I've heard you have to have special heat shrink since it is submerged in the tank. I hit five places and none of them had any idea what I was talking about. How do you guys go about hooking up a new FP?

I hit up all the auto parts stores in town and all the hardware stores. The wife is in the city doing stuff, I'm gonna get her to check and see if Lowes has it.

Is water tight heat shrink the same stuff?

What size wires you hooking up? #16-18?

If you are doing a butt crimp, just measure it and get whatever will slip over. It's prob 1/4" I think (.250)

I just checked and don't have any.

I think it is 1/4. Sad part is, I have some left over that is is industrial grade from a job, but I dunno if it is fuel proof or not.

Solder two wires together, shrink the tubing over the solder joint to cover it. Then submerge it in a can or container full of gas overnight or maybe a few days. If it is going to swell or deteriorate, it will be evident within a few days time.

Well I won't be able to get to it until next weekend anyhow, so I just ordered a few different sizes. Hopefully they will get here before the end of the week and I'll just use the stuff I know will work from the get go. Thanks 5L% for the MCMaster link, I don't know how I would have found that stuff otherwise.
