fuel sending unit

Hey, our 76 needs a fuel sending unit. Seems like a pretty common problem with these cars from what I read. I found one a guy is selling off of a V8. Mine is a 4 cylinder. I asked him it it would fit a 4 cylinder. He said, "you can, but you have to disconnect the vent line."

Does anyone have any other comments on this? Should I go ahead and buy it?
