Here I go again with this f in O'Reilly's distributor. I ordered and picked up a new steel gear for the old Bronco distributor I pushed the roll pin out ,pressed the gear off( thank goodness for my 12 ton press) pressed the new gear on and ran into having to drill the other side of the new gear so I can press the pin in. I went threw three bits and they don't even scratch the gear,I gotta get a carbide bit or so I'm told. Of course the second Chinese dist. From oh oh trolleys is crapping the bed. Stalled twice on my way to work ,once one the way home and hiccupped once also.
After much research and reading its best to use a ford dist. Since I can't get a new one I'm gonna put this used one in,also I have just ordered a new Dragon fire EFI dist.with wires from Amazon$139.99
There site says its better then overpriced or Chinese knock offs. Dist.
Ill do a review for all, soon as I can.

Feel free to rant about any bad parts you had the unpleasantness to deal with.

Well im having trouble on my Impala SS right now. Doing the tie rods and I cant get the adjusting sleeve to thread on. Has me 2nd guessing whether its the tie rod threads or the sleeves themselves but no, the sleeves werent machined right. Shouldve double checked before trying to put them on. Supposed to be AC delco oh its china crap

Comp Cams makes a composite dist gear that works very well.
I use one on my race engine which sees a ton of rpm.
They ain't cheap, but they fit.

I work at a Chevrolet Dealership. Almost all AC Delco stuff is made in China. Some of it is made in Mexico, but most is made in China.

I'm going to leave this here for the time being.

I am putting together a list of vendors and 'things' that are not made in China.

Some lead time on these but I'll put it here anyhow: https://performancedistributors.com/product/ford-duraspark-distributors/

I am all for this.
Unfortunately, there is a majority of people who would rather buy cheap (china/mexico) (walmart) than spend more and buy American made.
Sometimes it is almost impossible to find an American made item.
I went to 5 different Hardware stores in 2 different cities to find a tape measure that was made in the USA. Yes it cost more. Yes I spent a lot of time. To me it was worth it. The urge to just cave and buy from Amazon instead of buying local is real. Most of the time, I buy local. Sometimes local does not have what I want, so Amazon it is. I do live out in the middle of Maine, so big city selection is non existent. Bangor has 25K people. That is the biggest "local" I have. Portland, Maine (75K people) is the largest city in Maine and it is 80 miles away.
Sometimes I miss the Seattle area with it's 5 million population and everything is available at any time. Then I wake up...

I know Milwaukee has a line of "Made in the USA" tools.

Dunno about their tape measures though....

Be careful buying things from LMR...here is the Daniel Carpenter thermostat housing I received. The wall thickness at the bends is almost paper thin and weighs about half as much as the OEM housing...both are aluminum.

Here are the 2 plate bolts from the water pump I received from them as well (to be fair it's a motorcraft pump...china made). Notice the heads are way too big and would have dug into the timing cover, preventing the pump from mating properly.

I am going to try and refurbish all my OEM parts...this Chinese garbage is getting frustrating.

We are under no delusions about LMR selling Chinese junk. We just try and avoid it when possible.

I think I have a handle on how I'm going to do it.

Everybody, keep your eyes peeled. You never know where something might appear.

Bought the motorcraft TPS from lmr, I believe it was defective out of the box. Made my stang idle at 2k rpm and get stuck there. Paid a shop 375 to fix it, the only issue was the defective TPS.
