Yea im in alexandria. It felt great opening all these parts up for the first time. I've been saving and planning all this for a while.

looks really good. are you doing anything crazy with the engine bay? smooth/wirehide?

Nothing crazy in the bay. I was thinking about welding and smoothing everything down but since my car is at my friend’s house I'm really not trying to take up his garage for too long. Plus I would have to buy more stuff that I really can't afford. I’m just going to clean it up, sand it, paint it and try to hide as many wires and harnesses as possible.

Im kinda torn as to what CAI to use, i really dont want to spend a huge amount of money on one cuz i am planning on going turbo within the next couple years.

what are my options? its gotta fit a 80mm mas and 70mm tb. i was thinking about a c&l.
thx for the comments.

C&L should be a good choice for you combo.

You'll be able to recoupe the money for that setup on Ebay for sure. Good CAI's and other things like T-bodies, MAF's always sell good on Ebay.

I sold a used 70mm T-body for 125 bucks Buy It Now!!! I couldn't believe it, it was within hours of my listing!

I am planning on running the Quicktime turbo kit one day as well. i've seen a local guy make over 550rwhp with the same heads and cam i am building now and the 76mm precision set up. I basically went with the trick flow heads because of the packaged deal. took all the guessing work away. I believe that the tw heads are 170cc.

A friend of mine has got me thinking about building my own cai out of pvc piping. he says that he has seen it done before and that it is way cheaper. I'll let you know what i'll decide. LOL

Little update, now that all my parts are here and can't wait to put it all together and start driving I haven’t been able to get my hands on a cherry picker yet. A local guy from the Northern virginal mustang club is letting me borrow his but we haven’t been able to schedule a time to meet up. So this weekend I continued sanding down and painting some other accessories and brackets in the bay. I took off the exhaust, disconnected the clutch, speed cable, shifter and took of the engine mount bolts. All I would have to do is remove the cross member and lift the engine and trans right out.

BTW, I just realized this weekend that when I removed the water pump 2 or 3 of the bolts had rusted and broke while I was removing them. I know that this is a very common issue even though I was being very careful when I was removing them.
Does anybody have a right up as to how to get the broken bolts out? And does anybody know if Arp makes a bolt kit for the water pump? Thanks

which bolts broke? if the ones that go into the blokc broke thats gonna be a hassle, but if the ones on the timing chain cover broke i would say just look for a new timing chain cover. getting broken stuff out is a hassle, and if you need a new cover i think i have a spare one, so PM me and let me know. ARP does make a kit for the WP and i think they make a complete kit for the engine for around 100 bucks that will have what you need.

BTW the car looks sick, glad to see there are still people building clean notchbacks out there

You are 100% correct, after taking it all apart it got a lot harder to schedule working on the car for a while. With school, work and the fact that the car is about 45 minutes away from home has really killed my motivation to work on the car.

Good news is that shool is over and i have all next week off of work. I started going back to the garage on sunday and worked on it on tuesday night too. I started sanding down and priming the engine bay.

update pictures will be uploaded tomorrow.
