Do any of you guys question selling your stang when gas prices start to get really ridiculous? It's $3.12 by me, and i drive about 70 miles a day. Everytime i leave the gas station i'm furious. What really sucks is that i still have about two more years of college, and unless something suprising happens, i'm not going to be making that much more money. idk, guess im just venting!

Same deal...at college, so I walk to class, lol. and, on the weekends, my car usually only gets as far as the movie theater. I guess saving miles daily makes up for the 900 mile commute home every once and a while though.

just to make you guys feel better, fuel in the UK is around 90p a litre!

using the following:

1 US gallon = 3.7854118 litres

340.687062 (£3.40) is how much a gallon costs over here (in pounds sterling)

and using todays currency rate of 2 dollars to the pound a gallon of fuel over here in dollars would cost

681.374124 ($6.81)

and i drive a mustang as well! so trust me you guys get it good!

Si

P.S our fuel is higher octane tho!

Yup, gas prices suck. I live directly across the street from campus and only 2 miles from work. So the stang doesn't go far.

I do not think about selling it. But I do think about driving it less and driving my 1998 Honda Civic more. But every morning in the garage I just cannot bring myself to get in the Civic and drive it to work...

I just filled up at 2.99 for 93 yesterday and it was $39. Thank god my commute to work is only 6 miles each way...but the 15mph average can be a kick in the goodies.

I dont care how much it gets I am not selling. If you bought a V8 mustang imo you have no right to complain about gas mileage.

Thats like buying a bed of nails and complaining its sharp. YOu know what youre getting when you start.

My gas mileage has gone up since I got the prochamber installed so I'm not as pissed about the gas price rape. I know that overall my mileage will decrease though because I can't keep my foot out of the gas just to hear the exhaust best. Oh well, you gotta pay to play.

What do you have to drive 70 miles a day for? Do you commute to school that far or is i to work? I have an apartment on campus and live about 80 miles from my parents house. I think if i had to drive 70 miles everyday i would probably look at getting a beater car with better gas mileage. Id do my best to keep the stang too. I guess it comes down to what you can and are willing to pay to keep driving your stang.

sounds like someone needs to buy a beater carolla or something for like $2000.

Save the stang.

I have a company car that i drive everywhere as long as I stay in the county. (i hardly ever leave the county).
So Ifillup the Audi maybe once every two weeks and the stang has been down for awhile but once it's up and running again in the next week or so it will get filled up maybe once a month.

I remember when I got my first stang gas was .89c I could fill up and get change back with a 10 spot.

When gas gets to $3 or higher I will seriously consider a civic.
Right now I am spending $8 to $10 a day just to go to work and back and its
starting to kick my a$$.

I used to commute 70 miles a day... It was about $250 + a month for gas. I got used to it after doing it for 5 years. Getting a tune helped with about a 3 mpg increase on the highway.

Now I only commute 35 miles. Much better, only $160 + a month for gas

oh shut the **** up already. seriously. im so sick of hearing about "waa waa gas prices waa waa". buy a ****ing civic if you dont like it. besides, if you drive a car like a GT or such more than a full tank a week (~200 miles) you seriously should be looking into something more economical anyways, buy a beater crx or something decrepid that does 30mpg+.

I agree especially since our gas prices are ALOT cheaper than most the rest of the world. People here are not willing to change their driving habits, change the car they drive, or anything.

I know I am not.

Exclude all the taxes and whatnot then do a comparison in price.... right now you aren't really making a fair comparison. US prices are inflated, mainly by the middle men (not big oil and only slightly by the gas stations) but there is nothing that can really be done about it. I ended up just buying a 2nd car once the Stang was paid off to do the DD duty so it's the best of both worlds. If I can get around 235 miles per tank with my car, then I know most of you sub 300 n/a guys should def. be able to do it with some restraint....
