Anyone have expierence with G-Force transmissions? Thinking of using my T-5 case and use the G-Force internals for the 70 Mach which will have a 393 stroker pushing around 450 - 500 HP. I know the Tremec 500 and 600 are out, but am worried about the fit. I don't want to cut the tunnel and I want standard, so the C-4 or AOD is not an option. Anyone have a 69 or 70 Mustang that has performed this modification? Please help.

Well, in my 65, I was really worried about my TKO swap.

My 302 engine does tilt back a couple of degrees, but it is not bad. That is just because the TKO is taller than a C4 or Toploader. I didn't do any cutting, nor did 2bav8 in his 66 coupe.

With a 70, you should have the room, if I am not mistaken.

As far as the G Force transmissions go, it seems like a good idea. I found out about that after I already had my TKO. If the G Force trannies do work, then you have about 30 less pounds (70 vs the TKO's 100) and a little less HP drain.

I do like my TKO. It is my favorite modification. I love shifting, and I love the overdrive.

If you do a search of the forum you will find a few long and detailed threads on this subject. I haven't done the swap, but I'm planning on it eventually.

From what I've read here and other places, the bottom line is you have to cut the tunnel to keep a stock angle on the drivetrain. The kits available from the aftermarket change the angle of the drivetrain.

However, there are several people on this forum who have put a Tremec in their Mustang without cutting the tunnel and have plenty of miles on the combo with no adverse effects.
