they are in fact lighter but the biggest plus is that they are a direct factory replacement from what I understand. You don't have to get anything special to make it fit like the tremec. Atleast, that's how it was explained to me. A friend of a friend has one in his fox bodied lx and he has totally beaten the crap out of it last year and he never had a problem with it. He runs low 12's with the car

I've been thinking of doing a G-Force T-5 myself. At first it seems like a less expensive option ($950 for the gears), but after you price out everything you need, it comes out to be about the same as a TKO swap or slightly more.

I spent 1400 to get my tranny rebuilt with the g-force kit. 950 for the kit, 170 for rebuild kit, 90 for new (stock) 5th gear, and 250 for labor at a local shop. Oh and this includes all the shipping. Oh but, you need a 26 spline clutch disc so you may want to get a new clutch while your at it. But then again you have to go that with the tremec too. I just got a new spec 26 spline stage 2 disc for 100. Basically doing the tranny this way, is just like removing and replacing the clutch and trans. Theres no funny business about it. Also, tremecs are to heavy for me. Adding 40-50 lbs. to the front by andding a TKO was kinda unacceptable to me. I'm trying to balance the car as much as possible and that would just upset all that I have done so far. So for me it was an easy choice.

There was an article in MM&FF about 6 months ago. They really liked the G-force tranny. It seems like a decent value, plus its a direct bolt in to the T-5.
