Hey fellas, I bought this project(1990 lx coupe) a couple weeks ago and have been fixing a few things I don't care for. The PO had drilled holes and busted off a piece of the dash to install one of those big ass auto meter sport comp tachometers. I am trying to make it a bit more of the sleeper, or at least a cleaner look. Back to the busted dash, I figure somebody's had to repair this before. any thoughts on fixing this or making it less visually disturbing ?

You could cover it with one of those aftermarket dash covers or find a replacement for that part of the dash, thay are all bout the same are they not?

Ha, distract rather than repair, a bobbing dog may be in my future.
I don't know about the ass thing but I got one with a bunch of stuff in a deal years ago, I'll try to post a pic, only other thing I can think of cut a piece of material that fits tight in that area like maybe a piece carpet and glue in. That part of the dash is easier to replace than you think, in fact I may have one.
Not the answer you want, but get a used dash and replace it. I'm no perfectionist, but that hole would eat away at my brain every time I got in the car and each time someone asked what happened.

I put the dash cover on so the sun wouldn't eat the dash, I've had mine dash apart when I did the evaporator and heater core. It's a job but you can replace the heat core now and the evaporator core too, once and done, otherwise you cover it up with something, your choice.
I second finding a new dash. That would bug me, and I'm a perfectionist.
At least it's a grey dash and not black.

The dash pad doesn't look as bad as I thought, but it's just not me. The car has a few different bugs with the heater controls and such, I'm thinking I'll pull it all apart and replace whatever I can find needs replacing along with the dash.

That section of the dash is always black, the rest is gray (unless you really do have the worst lighting in history, lol)
So that is considered a gray dash.
If you buy one, the likelihood is that you will be getting the entire thing, not just the top half.
