I recently purchased a set of Autolite XP Xtreme Performance spark plugs. The instructions on the Autolite web site says to check and correct the gap as necessary (just like I've always done with every other plug). The gaps in the new plugs all needed to be adjusted.
But then my usual mechanic tells me that no way these plugs should be adjusted, and that doing so will ruin them. This guy is really good, and up until now, he has been able to fix things that even the dealers can't.
Sooooo . . . Should I adjust the plugs or not (they're only off about .003)?
