Gas Tank from Gt to LX?

Hey guys i finally gotten to the core of the old GT. After the accident i decieded to strip it down and put it on my LX Body. The problem that ive run into is that the GT Gas tank seems to be not fitting..... Im not sure if these are interchangeable and ive looked on Jegs and Summit for a gas tank and they seem to have the same part# . My question is ... are they the same? or could it be other things like those straps? . Thanx for any inputn - Andy

i think that they are the same but not 100%

theere the same cause my 84 turbo gt has a 93 gt tank and pump

I know for a fact cause i was under there for 2 hours trying to keep that nut clip from moving when i was unbolting it.
