for some reason every time for the last 5 times i have gone to fill up my tank I cant. What happens is you know when your tank is full and the pump and nozzel just cut off, well thats what happens and it is when I just start filling up and takes me 1/2 an hour for 12 gls. I try pulling it out turning it everything I am going nutts. Does anyone have any idea what is wrong? It happens at any gas station I stop at.

Sounds like there is SOME kind of blockage or restriction in the fill tube. My parent's Toyota does this sometimes when it is filled with faster pumps. The fill tube is pretty thin I guess  . I would check it and make sure it looks ok. If that's ok then there could be something stuck inside it that is restricting fuel flow and causing it to back up and turn off the nozzle.

Guess I should read the whole thread before posting

Seen post in the past about this...i know the system is vented also....there is a vent line that feeds to the charcoal can in the pass side inner fender. you may have something in that system causing your problem to???

I had this exact problem. I dropped the tank and blew out the vent line to the charcoal canister and it still did it.. so I dropped it again and searched around. I couldn't find any problem other than the check valve at the bottom of the filler tube and it looked like it was working properly... So I removed it as a test.. It worked.. I've been able to fill the car ever since.

I second the hitman. I had the same problem. Removed the little checkvalve (flapper) in the bottom of the fill tube and no more problem
