first off i would like to say hello to everyone.i just bought a 1979 mustang that was set up for just drag racing and i am converting it so i can drive it on the street.well first of the things i need to do is get the 5 gallon tank switch out with a stock unit but nobody sells a tank for a 79 mustang.they sell from 83-present cars so are all the tanks the same just diferent sending units or do i have an issue with finding a new tank?i hope everyones ready for alot for question for me down the road thanks

get yourself a fuel cell.
That will be the quickest fix for your problems.

I'm getting ready to do the same on my 89

The tanks from 83 and up will fit I belive, but you will need to install an electric fuel pump and rig a fuel pick-up for the new tank.
