my water temp gauge went out a week ago so i decided that i would put a piller pod with a gauge ive ordered a single gauge pod 2 5/8 for now. What i want to ask is which do yall think would be better to go with an electrical or mechanical gauge? Im sure my gauges problem was just the sending unit went out but figured i would go on an put the piller pod in since i like the way they look besides the water gauge might come out and the pod will home a boost gauge one day.

It's up to you what you want. Mechnical gauges are cheaper, but a little harder to route the capillary tubing up to the pillar.

Before anyone says it, mechanical temp gauges do not route coolant into the passenger compartment. They use capilarry tubing which transfers the heat.

Electrical gauges are easy to hook up, but don't usually have full sweep motion like mechanicals do. Mechanical gauges are more acurate because they have more then 90* of sweep.

To install, you'll have to put the sender where the stock temp gauge sender is. You could buy a new sender for $5 too, but then you'll need to find a nother location to mount it since you want the autometer gauge in the most accurate location

Here are my pillar mounted mechanical water and oil pressure gauges
