Hey everyone. Getting ready to wire dash tonight. I have a tachometer, oil psi and water temp. All electric autometer. Got some questions.
1. water temp - I eliminated the heater core so naturally the heater tubes running along the passenger side of the lower intake are gone. I relocated that sensor to on of the water passages on the lower intake. There is one at each corner I think. I then installed the sender for my new temp gauge in the large oppening near the stat housing where the heater pipe used to thread into. Is this correct and will that sensor function propperly in its new location?
2. Oil PSI - I understand that the stock locatio for the oil pressure sender is the driver side of the engine block near the oil filter. Well when I had my engine machined the guy must have put the plug from the passenger side in the driverside hole. Are the holes on both sides of the engine identicle. What I want to know really is if I can install the gauge senders (stock and aftermarket) on separate sides of the engine block.
3. Take a look at this wiring schematic. http://www.stangnet.com/tech/cluster87-93.pdf
I would like to tap into pin # 4 on left harness for my gauge power. #13 on the left harness for my gauge illumination. #2 on the right harness for my keyed on power to the tach. Will this work?
I will just ground everything to the chassis.
Thanks in advance for any help or advice.
