Gauges & Gauge Pod

Hey guys I'm looking for a clean way to mount a couple gauges for my upcoming blower install - I found the gauge pod I want to use - the Autometer Instrument Cluster bezel.

Three questions:

Where is the best price for the bezel? $76.95 + ship is the best I can find.
Which gauges look closest to the factory gauges? (I have white-faced, *INDIGLO* factory style)
Which two gauges are most important for a blown setup? (AFR & Boost?)

Found $64.99 + ship at Holcomb Motorsports and $65.95 from Summit.

I may have to settle for some black-faced gauges - trying to decide which one of these looks closest to factory gauges as well.

Someone (JP maybe?) recently had pics of that cluster in his ride. I dont know what flavor of white-ish faced-gauges he used (they were nice and expensive) but I tell ya, it looked sharp IMHO.

If searching for members with the pods, Andy (Rio5.0) and Eric (The Green GT) are the others I can think of who have the pod (IIRC) and have posted pics on here.

I think they're sharp myself. One of those and gauges under a DIN stereo could be kinda sleeperish (compared to a Pillar pod).

I know autometer has some gauges that will loo alot like yours I think. Im pretty sure they are the Lunar ones.

And Ill have to let you check out my cluster bezel next time I pass by. The only thing I DONT like is that Autometer didnt use the factory snaps to hold it in. There are two holes in it and you have to mount some brackets behind it to bolt it up. It works but it would look alot cleaner with the snap type deal.

But I love mine.

EDIT: Wait Ive never seen your gauges lit up. Are the they ones where the whole face lights up?

I have that gauge pod with a phantom II boost gauge, its not that greenish color though. I also believe the lunar is the one that will match yours.

I also don't care for the screws, but I think its like that so the clips don't break, like the stock ones. Mine have broken twice.

Once you get the cluster in, how is the fit and finish? Does it make any squeaks or rattles?

I didn't even notice your gauges last time we went for a ride! We're hitting the drag strip again tomorrow (Tuesday) if you can make it.

I dont even have the two top screw in and it dosent move.

And the Lunar line of Autometer is what you are looking for.

these are the lunars with a $20 ebay el-glow gauge cluster. the ones on the left are the phantoms.

boost should be required, a/f is a good idea. wideband is a ton better

Awesome pics, just what I was looking for. That is my exact gauge cluster.

I'm stuck trying to find a lunar 2 1/16 gauge that I can tie into my wideband. I can program it to output anything between 0-5v. I'd love to have a digital output of the AFR (aka "12.5") surrounded by some sort of colored meter... can't seem to find one to match the Lunar boost gauge.

Any ideas?

I run boost and fuel pressure. Fuel pressure is more important than boost and a wide band is more important than fuel. the AF guage that hooks into the O2 sensors is not really sufficent.

i agree with the wide band sensor, but if your not going balls out tuning, an a/f meter will be better than nothing.

I have that same set up with autometer lunars in the same cluster bezel set up. I love it very nice easy to read set up.

WhiteDevil, that looks good.

I agree on a gauge that hooks into the stock O2s... why spend all this money on a nice combo and cheese out on a $200 sensor.

With that said, I **DO** have a real wideband sensor already installed that I tune with. It has two analog outputs. I want to hook one up to a gauge but haven't found a white-faced lunar style gauge that will do this.

I may have to go w/ another style gauge to get the red/green + digital AFR functionality.

In all honesty though while a digital output of the AFR would be nice, what I really need is a visual indication of if I'm running lean that will catch my eye in the middle of a run so that if something fails I can have some sort of a chance of saving stuff before it all blows.

While I am tuning I will be logging AFR etc but after that I don't have the need to see how rich or lean it is but rather I just need something saying "HEY IDIOT THE PEDAL IS TO THE FLOOR AND YOU ARE LEAN STOP!!!".

The hunt for a gauge continues, thanks everyone for the replies thus far!

How do you keep that gauge on the left on "F" like that. Ever since my motor swap, you have to be quick to catch it on "F". I got it! You were sitting at the gas station weren't you,
