GBM CURSE?

I changed my oil in my Stang last night with no problems. After filling up at the gas station this morning, I turned the ignition key and a grinding sound happened for a few seconds, the engine came to life, pressed the clutch pedal to the floor and a horrible metal grinding noise like a loud rod knock, but when I released the clutch pedal noise went away. Pushed the clutch pedal again and that terrible sound happened again, so limped the car to the side and called the tow truck figuring bailing wire and tape isn't going to fix this problem. Found out late this afternoon the starter had fragged itself, the throw out bearing is missing a lot of metal, the flywheel is scratched, etc.

Didn't the GBM just return to the forum? :D

(just kidding)

There is a simple test for the GBM Curse.

When you had your "incident", did any of the following occur:

1.) Were there any fireballs or violent explosions?
2.) Did any objects (particularly hand tools, bullets or entire firearms) exit the vehicle through the windshield?
3.) Did any of the departing auto parts disappear into a mud sinkhole of epic proportions?

If any two of the above is true, then you unfortunately are afflicted with the GBM Curse
If only one of the above is true, you are considered "at risk" of contracting the GBM curse.
If none of the above proves true, you are not in danger of contracting the GBM Curse - it's just plain bad luck. No problem!
