OK, I planned on taking th stang into the dealer next week about the following tranny issues. I'd like to hear from you experts if it sounds like driver error or bad tranny. if so possible things to have them check out.
04 V8 GT, 5sd, 800 miles
1) Unless I am at a COMPLETE stop I cannot shift into first, the gears grind. I thought first was synchronized?
2) 1-2 shift is always really crappy for me, the rest are fine
3) Reverse is extremely hard to engage, even from first (from a complete or almost complete stop)..almost have to jam it into gear.
4) going over larger bumps there is a knock or clank (metallic) from the gearbox area, it is worse when the clutch is fully engaged. The shifter vibrates a little.
Problems started around 300 miles and have been getting more noticable
